I'll get to the gameplay in a sec. First, we need a touch of mood setting.
I woke up at 4:30pm today. That would be the equivalent of 4:30am to you daywalkers. After a failed attempt to lull myself back to sleep, I said a few curse words under my breath and rolled out of bed.
After getting dressed, I drove into "town" to grab some food. My wife requested Subway. I, being the faithful husband, complied. I hate the Subway here in Nowhere, NC. I can't give you a specific reason. Perhaps it's the looks of disdain, or the rushed feeling as you make your selection
with nobody waiting behind you, or maybe just because it's Subway. Regardless, today, it was my sandwich artists' first day on the job.
Jubilations.
So by now, you can probably guess what kind of mood I was in; bad². So what better way to take out frustration than to kill things with an oversized sword? None that I can think of! Darksiders universe, here I come!
Today's plan was to track down the Abyssal Armor pieces, along with any Lifestone shards, Wrath shards, and Artifacts I could find. Things were going well and my mood was improving until I stumbled on
another glitch. I was in the Black Throne. I had activated the elevator on the second area (purple) and was on my way up to grab a chest I had missed. The elevator made it to the top. I, however, did not. I fell straight through the platform, all the way back down. No big deal right? I just have to exit and come back. It will reset and I can continue on.
Nope.Ok, so I'll just load the last autosave. Surely that'll work.
Think again.Alright...starting to panic now, but surely it will reset if I completely leave and come back. Right? RIGHT?
Alas, no. I knew I was at the end of my rope. I had exhausted all but one option, loading a previous save. The problem with that was I haven't saved since I turned it off
yesterday. So there went all my progress...9 of 10 armor pieces found, a couple of lifestone shards, a wrath shard, and Death's Blessing.
After loading my old save (¬_¬) I went straight to the Black Throne and finished what I was doing, remembering to save before going up and when I was safely down again. I collected what else I could remember off the top of my head. Thankfully the damage was minimal since I had a save relatively close. I can only imagine the velocity at which my controller would have been thrown if I had to start the game completely over.
I guess I should be thankful that I'm in the habit of making backup saves. The lesson I need to take away here though is to do it more often. Even though I learned something today, it didn't help improve my mood...pity for my customers >:)
